MORNING MEADOW
A FOREST FLOOR,
ALIVE
WITH MOVEMENT AND LIFE
MORNING MEADOW draws on original 18th-century archival material, bringing together elements of a Nordic meadow in a detailed and composed landscape.
The glow of the morning sun and a gentle breeze move across a wildly blooming meadow. A vibrant medley of summer flowers, berries, and fruits unfolds, where wild horses graze in the open landscape. The flora is drawn from pattern paper found in 18th-century design books for woven motifs.
Fragments of hand-painted floral motifs preserved by Køng Museum, originally created at Køng Factory, one of Denmark’s most historically significant linen weaving mills.
Wildflowers, forest strawberries, birds, and grazing horses form an elegant, continuous rhythm across the textile.
Framed by traditional garland patterns, the composition is carefully balanced, allowing each element to stand with clarity while forming a unified whole.
MORNING MEADOW brings together archival heritage and a refined contemporary expression, translating historical ornamentation into a refined and timeless textile.
